So impressive with the inspection Gary did with me on a mobile home. The inspection was much more in-depth than I expected and I received the inspection report - categorized, written details, check marks detailing minor/major work needed and all presented in a nice 3 ring binder for me to take home for further review. Gary did a thorough approximately 3 1/2 hour inspection with me - answered all my questions in plain terms, offered advice on how to fix minor things myself and what needed a professional and the approximate costs and if it was imperative to fix now or I could budget for the future. I was floored by the excellent service and attention to detail. Anyone considering making a purchase of a home, mobile home and the like would benefit greatly from hiring Gary and save surprises in the future.

An amazing experience.
Buying a home is nerve wracking as it is - there is so much to take in and read. This made me dread the whole inspection process. Gary was both very professional and very personable. He was able to explain the complex systems involved in modern houses in a simple and clear way. He was also able to laugh.
When we reviewed the inspection we were provided with clear and easy to read documentation.
While I hope not to need another inspection for a long time, I would use Gary and Walkabout Inspections again in a flash.

Gary is an excellent resource when buying a home - the value he provides goes far beyond a thorough inspection (not rushed at all) to providing innumerable tips and maintenance advice. Take a notepad! The report is great but all the extra tips are worth jotting down, although he's also great about making himself available if you have questions after. We've used him for two inspections and would fully recommend him without reservations to family and friends.

As Asian immigrants who were unfamiliar with Canadian house market, my husband and I were totally lost after buying a house. And we met Gary. He arrived at the house before us, ready to start to work. While inspecting the house, he explained not only the current problems but also tips to maintain the house properly. The house we had chosen was good although there were some minor problems. Thanks to Gary, we could ask the realtor to fix the problems and everything seems to be all right now. Any home buyer CANNOT afford to not hire Gary at Walkabout inspections to perform a pre purchase inspection. Knowledgeable, friendly service conducted in a non hurried fashion allows you to fully understand what your getting yourself into ( or if you are lucky, not getting into) I have personally used Gary for the last 17 years on numerous purchases and referred him to countless people over the years. I would not consider hiring anyone else to inspect my home. He's like a good doctor...if your lucky enough to find him..don't let em go!

Gary did a house inspection for me years ago. His inspection was so complete and informative, when I bought a new home in 2014 I called him again.
I like working with Gary because takes the time to point out the issues he finds and explains how they may become serious or dangerous problems if left unchecked. In both cases, he didn't find any major problems with the houses I planned on buying, but he found lots of little minor issues - things that are easily corrected. On my first house I used his report later to go through and correct the handful of issues. On the second house I used his report to get a reduction on the price - and I'll be using it again as a check list for repairs.
Gary is a easy guy to work with and well informed on all the issues a house might have. He definitely knows what to look for. I highly recommend him.

Due to Gary's thorough inspection, along with other contributing factors, I was able to make an informed and wise decision on whether or not I should purchase the property and in this case I did not, as the building needed over one million dollars worth of work I hired Gary again to inspect the second condominium I was interested in purchasing.
