Freezing water expands and bursts pipes.
Expanded water in the pipes will burst their confinement within exterior taps and piping, causing water to flow out the splits once thawed, which can lead to undue flooding due to not shutting them off properly. This is a common occurrence in Lower Mainland homes.

I find the easiest way to clean your gutters is with a "shop vac" that can suck water and debris. From one location you can clean 2 to 3 metres with no stretching or awkward movement to remove debris from the roof water drainage system.This method works great with all kinds of roof water drainage systems, from hidden or metal troughs.
